Our schedules have been full lately and so we celebrated Steve's birthday in two parts. We enjoyed grilling supper and surprising him with a new sweatshirt that had a football game for the wii tucked inside the pocket. The kids could barely keep this secret. While Steve looked over his sweatshirt trying to look pleased with our choice, Kyle happily told Steve to check out the pockets! Steve had to take off for a meeting soon after. After he got home the kids were proud to show him the carrot cake we had made and they had frosted all by themselves. Clarissa was amazed that carrots could taste that good! The funniest comment came the next day when Kyle told a friend his dad had a birthday yesterday. His friend wanted to know how old he was and when we answered 38 he replied, "Wow, he is almost ready for heaven!"
Happy Birthday Uncle Steve! I like the Hawks too. I like to yell "Hawks". If you yell it enough, you get an animal cookie. Not sure about carrots in a cake though....aren't cakes chocolate?
