Christmas 2009

Details to remember about Christmas 2009:
  1. We knew that mass started at 6:30 this year. Last year we showed up an hour too early.
  2. When brought up to the altar for the homily Kyle was able to ask a question of a girl playing the part of Mary. His first one, "What time was Jesus born?" The second one (given to him by Amelia), "Why are you wearing blue?"
  3. Amelia cried when her present from the boys was a dog breed poster she had wanted for a long time.
  4. Kyle was esctatic with his one month online membership to Club Penguin.
  5. Evan was mature enough to leave the room when he did not get a DSi from Mom and Dad. Not to worry Santa was much kinder as you can see. The video from him opening it is hilarious and will one day haunt him.
  6. Clarissa was brave and excited to sit on Santa's lap at a neighbor's party. She loved the doll dressed like a Daisy Scout he had her open that night. The first thing she did when we got home was to write the doll's name across the face with magic marker. I think it was her way of marking her territory?
  7. Our tradition of going to Ankeny on Christmas Day was broken by winter weather conditions. We stayed in our pj's all day and played!
  8. I couldn't believe there was nowhere open on Christmas night to get drive through food for supper. I was tired out from all the cooking and baking I had done.
